Dr. Edvin Zvizdic | Head Surgical Technician Dr. Edvin Zvizdic started working at NAHAH in September of 2015 as the Head Surgical Technician. Dr. Zvizdic earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in his home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1985. He came to America in 1996, driven by the war in ex-Yugoslavia. Dr. Zvizdic started his Veterinary career working for a veterinary hospital in Everett, MA, where he continued his employment after the practice was sold to a larger corporation. He spent the next 20 years working there as a Surgical Technician Supervisor, adding to his already-extensive knowledge and experience in surgical procedures and anesthetic monitoring.
Dr. Michael Leverone | Veterinarian Dr. Leverone grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland, near Washington DC. After receiving his B.A. in biology in 1974 from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, he returned to Maryland to work 6 years as a Fisheries Biologist for the state’s Department of Natural Resources. While there he began studying toward a Master’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Management at the University of Maryland, but left the program early to enter Tufts University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1984 Dr. Leverone spent three years in a mixed large and small animal practice in New Hampshire before acquiring Reading Animal Clinic in Reading, Massachusetts. He recently sold that practice, after 26 years in business. Dr. Leverone and his wife Susan have two grown children, Julia and Patrick. He and his family enjoy fishing, kayaking, skiing, and traveling.
Emily Hannay-Marks | Office Manager Emily has been a member of NAHAH since February 2012. You will often find her with a smile behind the desk, or in an exam room assisting the doctor. Emily has worked in the Veterinary field for about 8 years, although she did take some time off to pursue her certification in human medicine as a Medical Assistant. However, after graduating and having her daughter, she realized that Veterinary medicine was where she still belonged. Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their pit bull cross, Nora, who takes up a lot of time and attention.
Donna Tanner | Receptionist After working in the dental field for many years, Donna wanted a change in her life. She decided she belonged in a Veterinary practice and began working at NAHAH in March 2016. Her love for animals and helping people has made the transition easy and fun! When she isn’t cheering for her daughter on the basketball court, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and the families’ two cats, Rosie and Killie.
Elizabeth | Receptionist Elizabeth is a highly valued member of the NAHAH team, always with a smile on her face to brighten anyone’s day. Her caring and compassionate disposition makes her a favorite among our clients and patients. She recently had another beautiful addition to her family and only works with us as needed because she can’t entirely let us go, but loves being a mom, too!
