Pick up and Transport Fees

HOME PICK-UP AND TRANSPORT FOR EUTHANASIA

If you do not wish to have an in-home euthanasia service and do not wish to be present during the euthanasia procedure, or have financial limitations and simply can’t afford an in-home euthanasia service, NAHAH will arrange to have one of our experienced veterinary technicians pick up your pet at your home and transport them with the utmost care to Dr. Murtha for the same humane euthanasia service we would perform at your home – for significantly less.

Regular Service Hours:

Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 8 pm.
Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.
Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm.
Sunday Service Call Fee – $50.00
After Hours Service Call Fee – $75.00
Sunday Service Call Fee – $75.00
Emergancy Sevice Call Fee – $75.00 (also applies to schedule changes,i.e. moving a scheduled service to earlier time slot and/or day.)

Euthanasia and Communal (Group) Cremation: Includes home pick-up and transport for euthanasia, evaluation, euthanasia and Communal (Group) Cremation.  Cremated remains are NOT returned to the pet owner.  Payment for this service must be made by cash, debit or credit card.  There is a fuel & mileage charge of $20.00 added to any service call greater than 10 miles with an additional fee of $1.00 per mile for each additional mile over 20 miles.

Euthanasia and Private Cremation:Includes home pick-up and transport for euthanasia, evaluation, euthanasia and Private Cremation. Cremated remains will be delivered to the pet owner by the crematory via UPS within 7 to 10 days, unless other arrangements are made. Payment for this service must be made by cash, debit or credit card.

*Private Cremation:  A Private Cremation takes place at the Forget-Me-Not Pet Crematory in Northborough, Massachusetts at a time that is convenient to and arranged by the pet owner.  At the Private Cremation the pet owner will be given time to be with their pet in a private setting to say their final good bye, and then be allowed to witness (or have a family member or friend witness) the cremation if they so desire.  A Private Cremation allows the pet owner (or representative) to observe the cremation process in a very personal way, thereby alleviating any doubt that they are getting their own pet’s cremated remains returned to them. There is a fuel & mileage charge of $20.00 added to any service call greater than 10 miles with an additional fee of $1.00 per mile for each additional mile over 20 miles.

Special Hand Delivery of Cremated Remains:  Private hand delivery of cremated remains from the crematory directly to the pet owner’s home by NAHAH is available if you do not wish to have your pet’s remains shipped via standard UPS delivery.  UPS is a very reputable and reliable company and while UPS delivery issues such as delays and damage are possible, they are exceedingly rare.  Private hand delivery of cremated remains by NAHAH is a service that is available to pet owners who are not comfortable taking risks of any kind with their pet’s remains.

Special Hand Delivery of Cremated Remains Fee:    $115.00

NAHAH accepts cash, debit cards*, VISA, MasterCard, American Express & Discover.

Full payment is required at the time scheduling of service visit is finalized, unless prior arrangements have been made.

PAYMENT POLICY: NAHAH respectfully requests that our clients take care of the financial arrangements prior to the scheduled time of the service call to your home. It is very difficult and uncomfortable for both the veterinarian and the client/pet owner to discuss financial matters at the time of the in-home euthanasia service call. In-home pet euthanasia is truly a sacred moment for all those involved, and at NAHAH it is our belief that discussing financial matters at the time of the euthanasia service call only serves to break the sanctity of this moment. Therefore, we ask clients of NAHAH to take care of all arrangements for aftercare of their pet’s remains as well as all financial arrangements 24 hours in advance of the scheduled euthanasia service call – or in more emergent situations, as soon as possible prior to the arrival of the veterinarian for the ethanasia service call.

Cancellation Policy: Please note, there is a nonrefundable 25% Cancellation Fee once euthanasia services have been scheduled by a client and a specific time slot has been reserved in our service schedule exclusively for that client to perform a euthanasia or other service.   The Cancellation Fee is 25% of the total services scheduled and paid for by the client.  A check for the remaining balance (75%) will be mailed to the client once the funds have been processed, deposited and cleared (a check is typically mailed out within  two week timeframe).
