Edvin Zvizdic, DVM | Head Surgical Technician

Dr. Edvin Zvizdic earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in his home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1985. He came to America in 1996, driven by the war in ex-Yugoslavia.  Dr. Zvizdic started his U.S. veterinary career working for a hospital in Everett, MA, where he continued his employment after the practice was sold to a larger corporation. He spent the next 20 years working there as a Surgical Technician Supervisor, adding to his already-extensive knowledge and experience in surgical procedures and anesthetic monitoring. He then joined us in 2015 and now lives in Billerica. He loves working at NAHAH because he feels “like a movie star!”

Emily H. | Practice Manager

Emily, from North Andover, is a founding member of the team since we first opened in 2012. Emily has worked in the veterinary field for over 13 years and received certification in human Medical Assisting, which has aided her greatly in the veterinary field. She enjoys being part of a team of talented professionals that feels like a family and bearing witness to a practice that continues to grow and exceed client expectations. “Clients tell me every day that NAHAH is a special place and I know it is true for I see it every day in the care and compassion the staff provides our patients.”

Stephanie Kottler | DVM, MS, DACVIM

Dr. Stephanie Kottler spent most of her upbringing in Arlington, MA. She attended college at Northwestern University where she obtained her B.S. in Theater in 1999. After graduating from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, she completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota. In 2008, she finished a 3-year residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Missouri and completed her Master’s degree. Dr. Kottler is board certified in small animal internal medicine. Her interests within the realm of internal medicine include endocrinology and infectious disease. Dr. Kottler has practiced internal medicine in New Hampshire as well as worked as a consultant for Antech laboratories. Currently, she is offering diagnostic ultrasound (abdominal, cervical, and non-cardiac thoracic). Dr. Kottler is available to perform ultrasound at NAHAH on Tuesday mornings and other days of the week by appointment.

Michael Leverone, DVM | Veterinarian

After receiving his B.A. in biology in 1974 from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, he returned to Maryland to work 6 years as a Fisheries Biologist for the state’s Department of Natural Resources. While there he began studying toward a Master’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Management at the University of Maryland, but left the program early to enter Tufts University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1984, Dr. Leverone spent three years in a mixed large and small animal practice in New Hampshire before acquiring Reading Animal Clinic in Reading, Massachusetts. He sold that practice, after 26 years in business. Dr. Leverone and his wife Susan have two grown children, Julia and Patrick. He and his family enjoy fishing, kayaking, skiing, and traveling.

Donna T. | Shift Supervisor – Reception

After working as a dental receptionist and orthodontic coordinator for 6 years, Donna, from Lowell, MA, wanted to make a career shift. She decided she belonged in a veterinary practice and began working at NAHAH in 2016. Her love for animals and helping people made the transition easy and fun! She is Dental and Medical Assistant certified, OSHA compliance trained and previously CPR and First Aid certified. And what she loves about working at NAHAH? “The people I work with, the clients I bond with, and the pets I get to love.”

Michelle B. | Client Care Specialist

Michelle comes to the U.S. from Greece, now residing in Haverhill, MA. She began working at NAHAH in 2017. Certified in accounting, she brings a unique background and skillset to our front desk. Since joining us, she’s developed an interest in Technician and Surgical work. She appreciates how kind and generous the team here is. “It’s like a second family, and I enjoy being here. I am a dog owner and lover and I love seeing new pets coming in daily.”


Diara T. | Project Specialist

Di, a graduate of UMass Amherst in Hospitality Management, joined the team in December 2017 with over 10 years of experience.in customer service. She has found much value in the service industry when working with animals! Her love for veterinary medicine grew when she began volunteering at the Springfield dog shelter and farm animal sanctuaries across the state. What Di loves the most working at NAHAH is our patients: “We have an amazing team of techs & doctors that provide the best care for our patients. We have so much fun with our patients, most of them are very happy to come see us until they see the scary needle!”

Abby H. | Veterinary Technician

Currently enrolled to receive her A.A.S in Veterinary Technology, Abby has had a passion for animals since she made a promise to her Papa, at age 5, that she would make a difference in the Veterinary World. Her motto at work is to treat every animal that comes through our doors as if they were her own. She’s currently worked with us for a year and has been a great addition to our surgical team. She’s taken numerous Continuing Education classes for Advanced Surgery and Anesthesiology to further her knowledge in the surgical aspect of this field. With extensive years of customer service experience, Abby prides herself on forming relationships with all the owners whom she interacts with. On her days off, she surrounds herself with her 4 cats and you can find her volunteering to walk the dogs at local shelters. Come on in and say hello!
